YM:  You just started your first wine club. Tell me a little bit about the club and how you came about your decision to start a wine club.

KJ:  It was an idea that I had a couple of years ago to make a resource book of wineries around the U.S. After doing a charity fundraiser there was an interest that other people wanted to hear about my views on wines.

YM:  I know you had your introductory meeting in June. How did that go? How many members do you have so far?

KJ:  Our first meeting was wonderful. We had six members to join.

YM:  What can members expect to gain from joining “I Love Wine” wine tasters club?

KJ:  Joining our club will give members an idea on how many types of wines there are out there and to help develop or find their own taste. They get to dine on dishes that compliment the wine that we are featuring.

YM:  What wines will the club sample at their next meeting?

KJ:  African Wines

YM:  What began your introduction to “real” wine?

KJ:  A romantic date

YM:  Do you have a favorite type or flavor of wine?

KJ:  Riesling, it’s a semi-dry white wine

YM:  Can you tell us a little bit about what Nashville or middle Tennessee has to offer in the area of wineries and local flavor?

KJ:  TN has 30 different wineries. We have 15 wineries in the Middle TN area.

YM:  If Nashville were a wine, what would it be and why?

KJ:  A dry white, either you like it or your don’t.

YM:  I recently read that it does not matter if a wine comes with a screw cap or cork; it’s everything else that determines the quality of substance. What is your take and do you have a preference?

KJ:  The screw cap is good the person who will allow a bottle to stay in the refrigerator for longer that a week, that helps keep the freshness. For me a bottle does not last that long so it’s not allowed to lose it’s freshness through the cork.

YM:  Labor Day weekend is coming up the first of September. Barbeques will be going and all kinds of libations will be flowing. Is there a wine that goes well with smoked ribs, barbeque bologna sandwiches, and potato salad?

KJ:  On that can be picked up at your local liquor store—Reunite Lambrussco

YM:  Being a wine connoisseur, do you have any advice for our readers who wish to graduate from zinfandel and make their 1st purchase of bottled, not boxed wine?

KJ:  Take a drive to Clarksville Beachaven Winery and sample (for free) the wine list, find the one the fits you. By the way, if you like White Zinfandel order a blush and make it sound like you know what you are talking about.
